Tangent Galvanometer Kit
|
Students assemble their own tangent galvanometers to measure small electric currents. Simply set the unit up with the compass needle parallel to the coil. Then pass the "unknown" current through the coil and measure the deflection angle. If you know the coil's dimensions, you can calculate the current. Designed for the P.S.S.C. Physics program, this kit starts with a sturdy base. It adds supports for a large, easy-to-read compass 4cm in diameter. Includes 3.35cm of stranded copper wire with alligator clips and instructions. Requires DC current source. Size: 15 x 16.5 x 19cm high.
