3-D Magnetic Field Visualizers
|
The Field Visualizers consist of a closed transparent box with a transparent tube through the center. The box contains iron filings. When one or more cylindrical magnets are inserted into the central tube, the filings are attracted and line up along the field lines in all dimensions. In the inexpensive student version, the filings are in dry air, and the magnet must be purchased separately. The demonstration version suspends the filings in a viscous liquid, giving better definition of the field lines, and a pair of 45mm long Alnico magnets with color-coded poles is included.
