Easy Interface Combo Couples High Performance with Student-Friendly Features
The culmination of 15 years development! Major features that contribute to EPIC's superior performance include: - Flexible operation- use it with the computer as a regular high performance interface or alone as a remote logger or digital meter
- SmartQ sensor- just plug in and use. No need to calibrate
- Six interchangeable inputs- analog and /or digital, any combination
- Six digital outputs
- Industry- leading 12- bit ADC resolution
- Fast logging speed- 35µs per channel, large storage capacity- 128k, and high timing resolution- 10µs
- Capture multiple independent data sets without downloading (each set is multi-channel)
- Critically acclaimed Sensing Science Laboratory software combines extensive analytical features with easily understood user interface, supported by online Wizards that dramatically shorten learning time.
- Critically acclaimed Sensing Science Laboratory software
The EPIC Hardware The EPIC hardware centers around the compact logger box which has the six input/output ports, a 2-line 32-character built-in LCD display, five rugged liquid-proof membrane switches, a power-on indicator lamp, and connectors for the computers serial cable and the power supply, both of which are included. Cables attaching SmartQ sensors are included.
EPIC can also operate on the internal recahrgeable batteries to allow remote logging- for up to 30 days- or to enable EPIC to act as a four-channel real-time meter with any SmartQ sensors. Logging information or meter readings are read directly from the LCD display, completely independent of the computer.
The Sensing Science Laboratory Software This software package enables the user to analyze EPIC's graphed or tabulated measurements. Recorded measurements can be thoroughly examined and compared with theoretical expectations. Data can be saved, printed directly, or easily exported to popular spreadsheet and word processing programs using the convenient copy command.
On-line Wizards guide the user step-by-step through their setup choices, enabling the students to quickly arrive at the configuration they want for their experiment with very little learning time, boosting their confidence and helping to maintain the focus of the lab on the investigation topic, not the operation of the system.
The software package is available for IBM-compatible PCs running Windows 95 or later. The software package is included in the EPIC Lab Data System.
