Student's Demonstration Cell
Students study the construction and characteristics of a voltaic cell, learning how electrons transfer from one substance to another (electron-transfer reactions) to produce an electric current. The Student's Cell comprises an unbreakable transparent plastic cell body and a screw-on plastic ring with two brass clamps (for holding flat or round electrodes) and two binding posts. The complete set includes the Student's Cell, a porous cup (2" x 5"), and 10 electrodes (one each aluminum, carbon, copper, iron, nickel and tin and two each lead and zinc). Instructions are included.
