Amoeba proteus
|
Uninucleate with single disc shaped nucleus. Reproduces by fission into two daughter cells. Species most frequently used to illustrate typical amoeboid morphology and locomotion. Cultures are provided in plastic jars or test tubes and are sufficient for 25–50 students.
