Kit, Simulated Urinalysis
Urinalysis can be performed by adding reagents to a urine sample. Different reagents react with substances in the urine sample in an observable way, providing evidence used to identify substances. With this activity, procedures used in urinalysis are understood by means of analysis with simulated urine samples. Students will test for pH, density, glucose, phosphates and chlorides. All reagents are provided. You supply only a hot plate, Bunsen burner and test tubes. Materials sufficient for 30 students working in pairs. Teacher's manual, student worksheets and MSDS sheets provided.
