Introduction to Toxicology Kit
|
Demonstrate procedures and techniques used to screen the body for drug use and abuse: chromatography, polarity and pH of molecules and urinalysis. Students also become familiar with the scientific use of standards to determine components of an unknown mixture. The kit contains five vials of standard drugs; three bottles of methanol; two bottles of eluent; one vial each of ninhydrin, diphenylcarbazone, mercuric oxide and chloroplantinic acid; one bottle each of potassium iodide, acetone, ethyl acetate and ammonium hydroxide; plus disposable ToxElution columns, thin layer chromatography plates, capillary pipettes and a spray bottle and pump. Complete with Rf value cards, student manuals and a teacher’s guide. For six student groups.
