Set of seven maps presents classic land formations in realistic raised relief. Each map was selected to provide information on typical land formations and features. A special lesson plan identifies, describes and indexes over 30 features shown on the maps including: volcanoes, Alpine glaciation, coastlines of submergence, canyons, folded mountains, fault block mountains and desert lands.Each map measures approximately 22-1/2" x 33-1/2", representing an area approximately 70 x 110 miles. The full-color maps included are: Hoquiam, WA; Yakima, WA (Mount St Helens area); Monterey, CA; Death Valley, CA; Grand Canyon, AZ; Portland, ME and Harrisburg, PA. The lesson plan explains how to use the maps in a variety of subject areas-physical and historical geography, environmental studies, ecology, map reading-for both group and individualized instruction.
