Natural Selection Experiment Kit—Evolution of the Peppered Moth
|
In England, pollutants in the air darkened the bark on trees so birds could see light-winged moths more than dark-winged ones. Light-colored moths were consumed in greater number. When smoke-control laws were introduced, trees became lighter colored; light-winged moths had better camouflage protection and prevailed. Contains three sets of moth-shaped cutouts in nine intensities normally distributed; three sets of squares showing a random pattern but of seven different sizes, normally distributed; six environment trays; pad of data charts, detailed instructions with background information. For 30 students.
