Six times larger than life...with 5 detachable parts, the nonbreakable vinyl model lets students investigate the exterior and interior of the eyeball and all its intricacies. From the outside, students view a magnified vision of the transparent cornea, through which the iris and pupil are visible, the tear gland, attachments for all six muscles of eye movement and optic nerve.
Open the model and the iris/cornea can be lifted out to unveil a functional lucite lens that actually magnifies objects and forms inverted images. Students can even sight through the transparent vitreous body, which can be removed to show the light-sensitive retina. The principle features are hand-numbered and keyed to an accompanying text. Model measures: 6" x 6" x 6".
