Color-coded nerve roots enhance comprehension of spinal nerve circuitry
Denoyer-Geppert Scaled to 6 times life-size, this vinyl plastic model replicates a segment of the upper thoracic spinal cord. Sectioned both longitudinally and in cross section, a portion of the white matter of the right half has been cut away to expose the anterior and posterior nerve roots which have been color-coded as follows: general visceral afferent (sensory) - green; general somatic afferent (sensory) - yellow; general visceral efferent (motor) - red; general somatic efferent (motor) - black. A color-keyed circuitry schematic is mounted along with the model on the hardwood base. Overall dimensions: 12 x 8 x 5" (30 x 20 x 13cm).
