This kit includes information on the conversion of chemical energy to electrical energy (electrochemistry) and Faraday's Law (electrolysis and the electrochemical cell). Students build a battery and an electrolysis cell and determine the reactions occurring in the cell. They also vary the reactant's concentrations to see how cell performance is affected. Each experiment requires about 90 minutes.

Chemicals included: copper, zinc, copper sulfate solution, sodium sulfate, bromothymol blue indicator solution.
