Students examine the cleavage of linear lamda DNA by restriction enzyme Eco RI by means of gel electrophoresis.
Allows the comparison of Lambda DNA cut with Eco RI,
Lambda cut with Hind
III (restrictive enzyme) and undigested lambda DNA. DNA samples predigested for convenience and timeliness. Reagents for
5 gels-2 to 4 students per gel.Kit contents: - UltraSpec-Agarose™ powder
- Electrophoresis buffer (50X)
- Ready-to-load™ DNA samples
- Methylene Blue Plus™ staining solution
- DNA Blue InstaStain™
- 1mL pipet and transfer micropipets
- Sheet of semi-log paper (duplicate as needed)
Required, but not included: horizontal cell, power supply, standard glassware, beaker tongs, rulers, transparent cellulose acetate sheet, distilled or deionized H2O. Highly recommended: staining tray package, visible light box, automatic micropipet to deliver 50µl.
