Electrolysis Apparatus with Ungraduated Tubes

This popular, inexpensive device demonstrates the decomposition of water or other compounds such as ammonia or sodium chloride. Electric current is run through the liquid to be tested, resolving it into its constituent elements, e.g., oxygen and hydrogen. Students are then able to measure the relative volumes of the trapped gases. The apparatus comprises an H tube with ungraduated arms (capped with rubber tubing and screw clamps), a glass reservoir and platinum electrodes. Overall height is 16". With instructions.
