Lets you find the relative hardness of an unknown mineral. The set consists of 8 different minerals - clearly marked with hardness ratings of 5, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 9 and 10 - mounted on four 3" brass rods. Drag the points in succession across the unknown mineral until you produce a scratch. Includes case with snap fastener.
