Simple Induction Motor Demonstrator
|
These cylinders on a string are two cylindrical magnets are attached to springs. When one of the springs is set in motion, the magnet bounces in and out of a solenoid directly below. The current generated flows through the leads to the other solenoid, causing the second magnet to begin oscillating in phase or 90° out of phase. When the leads are switched (thereby changing the polarity) and the demonstration is repeated, the magnets will oscillate in the opposite phase. This kit includes solenoids, magnets, springs, hook collars, and leads with alligator clips. Non conductive crossbar needed but not included. Easy assembly instructions. Developed by Bruce Yeany.
