Our kits are advertised to be an introductory starting point for the students and contractually we can only provide basic instructions. We are under strict instruction from Science Olympiad not to tell competitors how to complete any of the steps or provide any hints/suggestion as this is up to the student to use innovation and engineering skills to figure our how to complete a "winning" design, thus the “fun” part of the competition. Dear valued customer, thank you for your review. The wheels can be fit to the axle with a simple reaming of the wheel. We are going to log this as an improvement for the coming years to include wheels that fit perfectly without additional work…Please look for this next season. We will also look into providing extra nuts as an improvement too. In regards to price, a Science Olympiad donation is built into the sale of each kit so please take this into consideration. In regards to the dowel, it is essential that you tailor the design of your car to the rules for your specific competition. This kit was designed specifically with the national competition rules and is not custom to a school or region. We used the dowel recommended by the 2019 National Rules Packet and approved by the organization. The instructions and blueprints are created by the Science Olympiad National Board to be purposely vague in order to allow students to use creativity and innovation to complete the build. In regards to the missing parts, the vehicle base kit was required as well as the accessory bundle of your choice.
