F-1 Engine Poster
Charts
Built by Rocketdyne in the 1960′s & 70′s to power the mighty Saturn V into orbit, this massive engine had a 100% success rate. Five of these engines were used in the first stage of the rocket (the S1-C), providing a combined thrust of 7.5 million pounds of thrust, during its two-and-one-half-minutes of operation.

Standing 18.5 feet tall by 12 feet wide, and weighing over 18000 pounds, it was the pinnacle of engineering during the 1960′s- a time when nothing was impossible.

The mighty F-1 remains the most powerful American liquid-fuel rocket engine ever developed. The F-1 still holds the record as the largest single-chamber, single-nozzle liquid fuel engine ever flown.
