The best! - There is a WIDE variety of different amounts and types of calcium that are available for purchase. Lots of choice for the consumer, which in turn produces the best bang for your buck!! Easy online shopping is also a great benefit!

Disposal

This disposal method is published for your convenience. You MUST have checked with your federal, state, and local regulations before using this method and these methods are only applicable for small laboratory sized quantities.

Use a lab apron, chemical resistant gloves and goggles before following the below method to dispose of hazardous waste.

 1. Fill a large beaker with 1 L of cold water and place it in a fume hood. Add a few pieces of calcium (no more than 2 g).
 2. Neutralize the acidic solution with dilute sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate to a pH of about 7.
 3. Pour the final solution down the drain with at least a 20-fold excess of water.
