This does the job and is popular. Yes, the plastic tubing cracked, but we put tape on it. We haven't had a eyelet come out or a knot untie. We used Boyscout knots. It is good for once a year use. Note: we use it in 5th grade in small groups of no more than 10. Students get to take it off the shelf for use during work periods. We are a Montessori school, so the students are used to being careful with materials. They don't overuse it. We also use a really good timer that works in the tenths of a second.

poor quality materials - This lab set has good curriculum matched with cheap materials. I used the orbiting devices in my middle school Earth Science classes. After two sections of students, half of the devices had broke. The design is of poor quality largely from the cheap materials. Poor quality materials - Product arrived four months late. The styrofoam balls are not dense enough to hold the screw in eyelets. The nylon string is too thick and does not stay in a knot, even when tightened with pliers. The plastic tube that holds the washers is flimsy and tears easily.
