No, I didn't recommend
My school purchased two of these generators for demonstration purposes in second semester physics. The plastic gear that drives the generator began stripping as soon as I started using it. It is cheaply made, and a more durable replacement needs to be offered.

This compact DC generator is housed in a transparent case, so students can see the mechanical gearing of the crank drive and the electrical connection to the built-in miniature lamp and output socket.

The generator can produce up to 12VDC and is rated at 7.5V, 2.3A. Polarity of the output depends on the rotation of the crank handle. The generator can also power circuits to show basic electric phenomena such as series and parallel connections, electrolysis, and charging of a capacitor.
