These plastic cover slips are well priced. They are less breakable than the glass ones, however, they can scratch fairly easily.

I was hoping wards had another option this year for plastic cover slips. I've worked in labs and have taught middle school for a long time. This was not an industry standard just a few years ago. My plastic coverslips used to come with tissue paper in between to prevent scratching. Students are VERY frustrated at having to peel the film off both sides. They waste time, bend the coverslip, it takes the joy out of looking at microscopic specimens. And the little "peelings" are all over the room!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that our plastic cover slips did not meet your expectation. The manufacturer removed paper insert in order to keep the price low. We are discontinuing these cover slips based on customers feed back and are working with new a vendor to bring back cover slips with the paper insert. Thank you again.

Same experience. Wasting precious class time trying to get covers off and bending coverslips in the process. Plastic coverslips used to come with paper between them. This concept is stupid. Having no lamination on it would be much better than having to destroy the coverslips to get lamination off. The scotch tape idea helps sometimes on some of them, but these still are a bad investment.

These coverslips are covered with lamination to protect them from being scratched. This is an industry standard for plastic coverslips We're happy to see you tried our recommended scotch tape trick. We are also recommending our glass coverslips as as alternatives to plastic, they do not have lamination, items 143211 and 143215.

The time, effort, and attention to detail required for students to peel off the plastic from these coverslips negates the worth of the laminating layer!

Hard to peel off lamination - I didn't notice when I bought these that it says "remove lamination before use" Instead of the paper between cover slips that keeps them from sticking together like I was used to, each of these cover slips has a sticky lamination layer. You have to peel it off, and if you don't have good fingernails it is nearly impossible, and if you do have fingernails it still takes a long time to get it off. N

Laminated Coverslips - I missed the "laminated" in the description when I bought these coverslips. They are HORRIBLE!! The lamination does not easily come off and makes use extremely difficult. I feel as I wasted precious department funds with this puchase.
