Reversible Thermoelectric Demonstrator
Series-connected semiconductor junctions are sandwiched between two aluminum legs. The legs are immersed in baths of different temperatures producing electrical energy that causes a motor and flywheel to spin.
Generates approximately 10mV for each degree difference in temperature between the legs. This is 1,000 times more voltage than a thermocouple device!
The motor plugs into 4mm banana jacks and is removable so voltage output can be monitored directly using a multimeter.
To demonstrate refrigeration, connect a low voltage source (6VDC/2A) to the banana jacks. One leg will heat up while the other cools down. Under good conditions, a temperature difference of up to 17° C may be produced.
Includes: instructions, two 8.6 cm dia./11 cm high insulated cups, and a storage box that doubles as a demonstration platform.
