While they work most of the time, there are some that have stopped for unexplained reasons and they produce graphs that are jumpy either from being too sensitive and reading interference, or they just are very fragile. Using a flat surface to reflect the waves back to the detector helps, but there are still some problems. The new bluetooth GoDirect motion detectors seem to be better and graph better regardless of the surface reflecting the waves..
